Are invisible braces really invisible?

Clear aligners are made from medical-grade transparent plastic and sit closely against your teeth. From normal conversational distance, they are virtually undetectable. Most patients tell us friends and colleagues did not realise they were wearing anything until they mentioned it. They are noticeable up close in strong direct light, but in everyday situations they read as a clear film over your teeth.

How long does invisible braces treatment take?

Most invisible braces treatments take between 6 and 18 months. Mild cases involving small movements can finish in 3 to 6 months, while more involved cases requiring bite correction take 12 to 18 months or longer. Your treatment time depends on the complexity of your case, which we will assess and explain clearly at your free consultation.

Will invisible braces work for my case?

Clear aligners treat most common orthodontic concerns including crowded teeth, gaps, mild overbites and underbites. More complex cases involving severe rotations or significant bite issues may need different invisible braces options, such as lingual or ceramic braces. The only way to know which is right for your case is a clinical assessment, which we offer free at our London clinic.

Can I eat and drink normally with invisible braces?

Clear aligners are removable, which is one of their biggest practical advantages. Take them out for every meal and drink anything other than water, then brush before putting them back in. There are no food restrictions, no broken brackets to worry about, and no awkward moments at restaurants. You wear them for 20 to 22 hours a day around your meals.

What is the difference between invisible braces and traditional braces?

Traditional braces are fixed to the front of your teeth with brackets and wires, visible across every conversation. Invisible braces, particularly clear aligners, are removable, virtually undetectable, and worn under your daily life.
